Veterans Funeral Benefits

Our staff will complete the applications for veteran's funeral and burial benefits and make the request for veterans entitled to receive military honors.

We believe that military funeral honors are the least we can do to provide the best send-off for our deceased veterans, and hope to provide them to all eligible veterans. At the family’s request, we are happy to arrange for honors to be provided at a veteran’s funeral service, complete with the firing of rifles, playing of taps, and folding and presentation of the American flag.

We are also happy to arrange for final disposition at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, if desired by the family, which includes the grave or niche space, outer burial container, marker, opening & closing fees, and perpetual care, all provided to the veteran, an eligible spouse, and dependent children at no cost to the veteran’s family. Government provided headstones or markers may also be provided at no cost if a veteran is to be buried in a private cemetery.

Veterans who pass away in Pennsylvania are eligible for free copies of Certified Death Certificates, and are often eligible for a county burial allowance and/or federal burial benefits, as well as Presidential Memorial Certificates, depending upon the circumstances of their service. We are happy to discuss what benefits each veteran may be eligible for and complete the necessary applications on your behalf at the time of need.

All that is required to verify eligibility is a DD-214 or equivalent document showing that discharge from the military was under conditions other than dishonorable. If these important records cannot be located, we are happy to complete a request for them on your behalf.
